Expats in France

Hi everyone. I am plan on relocating to France and I am looking for a place in n the South. Did anyone use a relocation agent for their move? If so was it of value?

I am looking for a town or village that is lively and has a strong artistic community. Around Toulouse and down.

I would really appreciate any feedback.

Thank you in advance. ☺️

Artistic towns east of Toulouse include Mirepoix, Fanjeaux (with a big summer show at its Maison Gramont gallery), Montolieu (the book village), Sorèze (an Abbey village with a strong arts collective in the abbey), Caunes-Minervois, Lagrasse, Pézenas. North East: Albi, St Félix Lauragais, Lautrec, Cordes-sur-Ciel, Saint Antonin Noble Val.
Carcassone, Narbonne, Béziers too, if looking for slightly larger towns.

We chose Bram. It’s on the train line between Toulouse and Carcassone . Narbonne is easy to get to as well, and our mayor supports the arts. Weekly market , shops and banks , restaurants ( all remain open during winter) and schools and parks . Not a city but also not a seasonal village !

Marciac could well be an interesting one for you a significant art, creativity and music scene. Renowned for its annual Jazz festival, it’s not too far due west of Toulouse.
    Good luck with your plans.
